About Coach Sam: Samuel R. Chadwell has taught tennis professionally for 19 years. He is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association. Throughout his career Sam has been involved in the tennis industry as a player, coach, and club manager. He is a former #1 ranked Texas Men's 30 and Over Doubles Champion (1997). He has served as the Executive Director of the Houston Professional Tennis Association since 2005, and the Director of Tennis at Columbia Lakes Resort Hotel and Country Club in West Columbia, Texas since 2003. Coach Sam recently won the 2006 USPTA Industry Excellence Award for oustanding work promoting grassroots tennis in Texas. Sam loves working with the home school community. Future Star: Elijah Chadwell:
Elijah Chadwell loves tennis. He is literally growing up at the Columbia Lakes Tennis Center. We try to play tennis at least a few minutes every day. Sometimes we just pour out a basket of balls and practice chasing and picking them up. At almost three years old Elijah can already hit the ball over the net by himself. We are always working on agility, coordination and striking skills in a fun games based setting, It is simply music to my ears to hear the words: "I want to go to the tennis center, I want to play tennis with you, daddy...' Elijah's other favorite hobbies include fishing, golf, and reading.
